Two years ago in November, Pinocchio was unleashed in select theaters around America. It was a beautiful moment to finally see a character that I have known for over 20 years come to life. I first met with Guillermo Del Toro to discuss a Pinocchio movie in 2003 and worked on it from that point until early 2011. Guillermo continued the work from that point until completion. I learned so much during those years, not just about art, story telling, and filmmaking, but also about life and spirituality. These were very formative years in my human development.
Most of the artwork I created during those years was never released publicly outside of some small private presentations. By the time I received permissions from Netflix that I could share the work, it was well past the release of the film. Even at that, some of the art still needed to be scanned in and cleaned up. Long story short, most of this work has not been shared on social media.
With November marking the release month of Pinocchio, I felt it a good time to release this archived work. Be sure to follow me on social media to catch these drops. Also, all Pinocchio merch (books, DVDs, Blu-rays) are on sale on my site throughout the month at 50% OFF!
Those items can be purchased here.
It’s going to be a fun time down memory lane. I invite you to come along with me.
